Great Blue Herons are abundant on the west coast of British Columbia. They can be seen standing stoically, waiting patiently for their next snack to swim by, while the cool waters swirl and shift around them.

Wishing stones are the rocks that have a ring all the way around them. As a child I would search for them on our local beaches , make a wish and throw the wishing rock into the ocean so no one else would find it until my wish came true.

Dock of the Bay, SOLD
this is the Dock at Cow Bay.(locally we just call it Cow Bay) or simply the bay but it is actually Cowichan Bay . It seems the same ships are moored here year after year , but saddly the red ship you can just see in the back the Artic Fox sank and her crew members were lost a year after I painted this picture.
I was amused by how hairy ,Harry was, with his long neck tucked, his feathers fluffed to ward off the cold as he keeps a keen eye out for the next catch that might swim by.
